Flip Flop Emergency

A Kashmiri once told me this old adage from his village:

"Scare them...if they don't budge...then get scared yourself"

That is the premise of Musharaf's emergency!! To make matters worse he committed a strategic mistake of entering a situation without an exit plan.

Insiders View

The general feeling here though is that the emergency will be lifted pretty soon, once the President gets himself re-elected for the next five years and gets his actions legalized by the current crop of supreme court judges. People are expecting him to take off the uniform, hold elections (not fair offcourse - this is Pakistan) and start 'civilian' rule in the country.
